I hate that it’s come to this, but it’s time to put my pride aside and finally admit I need help, desperately.
Those who have known me for the past several years know I have always had a toxic relationship with my mother. As far back as I can remember, our relationship has never been healthy.
Things came to a head this morning when we got into an argument. As many of you know, I have MAJOR space issues. I don’t like people being near me or touching me, I need fair warning before to prepare myself. She tried to touch my arm and I instinctively flinched. This made her furious at me because she couldn’t fathom as to why she wasn’t being allowed to touch me. She told me to fuck off and stormed off and I thought that was that, just a regular tantrum of hers. I went back to my room and got ready for work.
Not even fifteen minutes later, still furious she barged into my room and tried to grab my vanity mirror to beat me with it. Because, according to her, she “owns” me and I shouldn’t dare to defy her. I fucking snapped. I yanked the mirror away, fought her off and shoved her away out of my room. I only had around 20 minutes to frantically gather some things and leave for work.
I can’t handle this anymore. I’ve put up with years of her abuse. Physical, mental, emotional. The whole range. I’m at a breaking point. I tried to push through it to help my dad take care of my disabled sister, but I can’t do it anymore. I can’t tolerate the constant barrage of abuse I get day in and day out. I have to get out.
Unfortunately. My current job does not allow me to be financially independent. I help out with bills at home and pay for my own things, but still not enough to pay rent fully. I just…I need some help to get off my feet. If it’s a house or apartment I can crash at, a job lead, a few bucks towards PayPal…I’ll do anything. I don’t want to be stuck in the cycle of abuse anymore.
